​Cooperation with both governments and non-governmental organizations around the world is an important component of the environmental agenda in Israel. Over the years, Israel has ratified almost every major international environmental agreement and has participated in international programs and workshops on a myriad of topics, including: marine protection, sustainable consumption and production, preserving water resources, biodiversity conservation, development of environmental technologies, and more. Israel also ensures that its national legislation is compatible with its international obligations
