WATEC Israel 2009, the Second International Conference and Fifth International Water Technologies & Environmental Control Exhibition, focuses on the water energy nexus, as well as other topics such as water efficiency solutions, desalination, efficient irrigation, water purification and alternative energy solutions. The exhibition, which takes place on November 17 - 19, 2009, brings together Israeli and international business executives, political decision makers, and leading researchers.

WATEC 2009 - Israel's largest international professional trade show - presents an international showcase of technologies, products, and services to support a sustainable economy. Hosting participants from the Americas, Europe, Asia, and Africa, and Australia, the exhibition is a unique opportunity to discover the latest innovations from start-up businesses, established companies, and researchers that can help drive private and public initiatives and accelerate results.

Within the framework of the exhibition, the Ministry of Environmental Protection has organized a number of conferences and events, including:

  1. Meeting of Environmental Protection Minister Gilad Erdan with mayors on separation of waste at source
  2. Professional conference on separation of waste at source and reduction of greenhouse gases: November 18, 2009, 13:30 - 18:00, Pavilion 10, Hall 6.
  3. Professional conference on opening a window to renewable energies, in cooperation with Environment 2020: November 17, 2009, Pavilion 10, Hall 6, 14:00 - 18:00
  4. Accreditation ceremonies for green kindergartens and green schools, with the participation of the Ministers of Environmental Protection and Education.

Within the framework of the exhibition,  the Ministry of Environmental Protection invites all participants to its model green house to experience, first hand, the environmental and economic benefits of sustainable building.
