Distribution of Gasoline Stations in Hydrologically Sensitive Areas

Surveys of gasoline stations throughout Israel have revealed non-compliance with regulations on the prevention of water pollution from gasoline stations. In order to provide a picture of potential water contamination hot spots in the vicinity of existing stations, the Ministry of the Environment has ranked the country’s gasoline stations according to potential risk of fuel contamination to surrounding water sources, both aquifers and drinking water wells.
